About Bus Driver

Bus Driver is a 4-round card drinking game where each player takes a turn "riding the bus" — a sequence of four card-guessing challenges that get progressively harder. Get all four right and you complete your turn. Get one wrong and you drink, then restart from Round 1.

The four rounds are: Red or Black, Higher or Lower (with a Same option), Inside or Outside, and Guess the Suit. The final Suit round is a 1 in 4 chance, making it the most dramatic moment of every turn. Party Mode adds a perfect-run bonus: zero drinks across all 4 rounds earns you 4 drinks to give out to anyone.

How to Play Bus Driver

Set up — enter player names, choose lives per turn, penalty drinks, and game mode

Round 1 — Red or Black? Guess the colour of the next card. Wrong = drink + back to Round 1

Round 2 — Higher or Lower? Guess whether the next card is higher, lower, or the same value as Round 1

Round 3 — Inside or Outside? Guess whether the next card falls strictly between or outside your first two cards

Round 4 — Guess the Suit! Pick ♠ ♥ ♦ or ♣. Correct = turn complete. Party Mode: 0 drinks total = give out 4 drinks

How do you play Bus Driver?

Each player rides the bus through 4 card guesses: Red or Black, Higher or Lower, Inside or Outside, and Guess the Suit. Wrong answers mean you drink the penalty and restart from Round 1. Complete all 4 to win your turn.

What happens when you guess wrong?

You drink the penalty amount (1, 2 or 3 as set before the game), lose a life, and go back to Round 1. When all lives are gone, your turn automatically passes to the next player.

What is Inside or Outside in Bus Driver?

Round 3 uses your first two cards as boundaries. Inside means the third card falls strictly between them in value. Outside means strictly below or above. For example, if your cards are a 4 and a 9 — Inside means a 5, 6, 7 or 8; Outside means a 2, 3, 10, J, Q, K or A.

What does Party Mode do?

In Party Mode, if you complete all 4 rounds without drinking at all (a perfect run), you earn a bonus: give out 4 drinks to any players of your choice, split however you want.

What do lives do?

Each wrong answer costs a life. When all lives are gone, your turn ends automatically and passes to the next player. Setting lives to Unlimited means turns continue indefinitely until all 4 rounds are completed.

Can I play Bus Driver without alcohol?

Yes — Bus Driver works with any drink. Replace alcohol with soft drinks, juice or water for a non-alcoholic version that is just as entertaining.

What is Higher or Lower in Bus Driver?

Round 2 asks whether the second card is higher, lower or the same value as Round 1. Aces are highest (value 14), then Kings (13), Queens (12), Jacks (11), then numbered cards from 10 down to 2. Choosing Same is correct only if both cards have identical values.
